GEAR – Pledge of support.
The Grand East Anglia Run is now in its fifth year, it’s a wonderful event that caters for runners of all abilities to enjoy an enthusiastic atmosphere throughout the town as runners, wheelchair athletes and spectators alike join in the camaraderie and spirit of the occasion.
Nothing gives me more pleasure than to see people giving 100% to something they really believe in and in my job I see it all the time, the effort and commitment from runners is truly amazing. It doesn’t matter what your background is because running is a fantastic discipline and a great leveller that bridges all divides and guess what? It is good for you! That’s why I am right behind anyone who runs competitively, socially, to raise funds, just to keep fit or just for the sheer enjoyment of a wonderful athletic discipline.
During my running career, I have participated in local races right up to International events and have enjoyed every minute of it and now I am putting my experiences back into the sport. That’s why I am really proud to give my support to this very popular town centre race and am excited to once again being involved with the dedicated management team and many volunteers that put this very complex and prestigious race together.
For the 2010 GEAR I have put together three training plans for those who would like some help in preparing for the race. My contact details are included and I would be happy for anyone needing advice to get in touch with me.
Good Luck and I look forward to seeing you at the race on the 2nd May if not before
